Be patient, It takes a bit of time to load the pictures!
Munich, Germany is in the German State of Bavaria, As late as 1911, it
was the royal capital for King Lugwig III, and a lot of history as a
seat of power from the Roman times, through being part of the German,
French, and Austrian rule. We were able to visit
the royal residence and treasury. There was so much culture that can be
seen in the old part of the city, we were only able to see a small
bit. We will explore deeper on our next visit in 2008. The government buildings are
really impressive. We were able to travel using the subway,
street cars, and the regional train. We were able to travel from
Nuremburg to Munich for E29,00 for the five of us. Why rent a
car when so much public transit is available and timely. The day
we traveled, there was a major foot ball game, and the train was full
of game goers and beer. Along with the football crowd, there was
a festival going on. We were able to find a really great
Germany restaurant, and taste a bit of the local fair. We had a great time. Oh yea, the
food was great. |
