Freiburg, Germany 2006

We went in search of coo coo clocks. Well, no better place other
than the German Black Forest. We took a 5 hour train trip,
through 5 transfer stations, and finally arrived in this charming
city. We climbed the local hill and walked what remained of a
mid-evil fortress. We were able to climb a tower erected at the
fort site, and we were able to see France to the west and Switzerland
the the south. We could see for miles and miles. The city has
many narrow streets and ornamental buildings. As with many
European cities, there are beautiful old churches in the town squares.
As always, we traveled by train and then by foot. Never walked
so much since my days as a scoutmaster with the boy scoutsr. |
